MFT Camp Create....

It's time for another Camp Create at My Favorite Things.  I am the Camp Counselor for today and our activity of the day is Monochromatic Magic!  I have a video for today's class over on the MFT YouTube Channel.  You can check out today's lesson by clicking HERE.

MFT Camp Create

I used a new background stamp called Make Your Mark from the August Release to create this ombre monochromatic background all in pinks.

MFT Camp Create

This card was not in the video, but just gives one more example on how you can create a monochromatic look with watercolor....

MFT Camp Create

A quick and simple wash in the background can stretch that color out.

MFT Camp Create

Now here is the fun part!  Leave a comment on the video over at MFT's YouTube Channel and you will be in the running to win a $15 gift voucher to MFT's store.  If you participate in Camp Create and make something for each of the 5 days activities, you will be eligible to win a $150 gift voucher to MFT.  WOW!  So fun!  Stop by the MFT Blog to see more of the prize details.

So glad you stopped in today and I can't  to see what you create!  :)

MFT Release Replay...

The August Release at My Favorite Things is a fun one!  The latest halloween set is adorable and makes me think.....where did the summer go?  For today's Release Replay, I have a card using the new set called    and I mixed it with the Stitched Collage Frame die.

August 2017 MFT

To create this card, I did a simple watercolor wash on watercolor paper.  Then I die cut that same panel with the Stitched Collage Frame.  I added the stitched from in black directly on to the black card base and then popped up the watercolor panels on foam tape for a dimensional card.  Last, I added in the spider web stamps, the ghosts and a heat embossed sentiment to finish it off.

A stencil and a hug!

I have been staring at this Radiating Rays stencil on my desk for a few days and finally found some time to pull it out.  If you haven't seen this amazing stencil, its from My Favorite Things and its a must have.

MFT Radiating Rays Hugs Card

I tape the stencil down to a piece of Bristol cardstock (from Hobby Lobby) and blended away.  I used the following inks in rainbow order...

Worn Lipstick
Candied Apple
Spiced Marmalade
Scattered Straw
Twisted Citron
Peacock Feathers
Dusty Concord.

After removing the stencil, I went back in a and blended in the white lines so the entire panel was covered in color.  Next, I took a Stitched Heart Stax die to cover up the center.  Then I added in the "sending hugs" die in white cardstock.  I love the white on white.  I popped the whole card front up on fun foam on to the card base.  And done!  :)

Hope you have enjoyed my rainbow creation.  Thanks so much for stopping in!

MFT Celebrate with a quick tip video....

Hello craft friends!  I am stopping in today with a CAS card and a quick video tip for My Favorite Things.

I used the Celebrate Speech Bubble die recently to create THIS card and had to save the negative for something else.  So with that, I created this card....

This card was SUPER easy to make.  The Celebrate die and those adorable hippos from MFT make it even more fun!  You can see the quick tip video below to show how I assembled the card, but I basically save the CELEBRATE right out of the die using Press n Seal.  Then I was able to add glue to the back and add it right to my card all in one piece.  So easy!

Next, I colored up that adorable little hippo and balloons and added it to the card with foam tape.

Here is the quick tip video of how I assembled the card with Press n Seal....

Thanks so much for coming by today!  Have a great day!

MFT August Product Launch...

This is my third....yes, THIRD, post for today (yikes!) so please scroll down to see my Queen and Company Shaker post and my Neat and Tangled Birthday Hop post!  :)

It's MFT Release Time!  This month holds another amazing release with lots of fun new stamps and dies.  Head on over to the MFT shop to see the whole release and do some shopping!

I have a card to share today using the new Stitched Collage Frame die and the new stamp set Flamazing.

MFT August Product Launch

To make this card, I first did some masking on a sheet of cardstock.  I masked off the bottom for the sand, then added in some Blu Raspberry for the water and then cover the rest with Sno Cone for the sky.  Next, I used the new collage die to cut out the card front.  I took the stitched frame and adhered it directly to the card front.  I used fun foam and popped up all the negative pieces to create the seascape in the background.  I added in some of the wave stamps in Blue Raspberry.  I stamped and die cut the tree, the flowers and that adorable flamingo and popped them up on foam tape.  Last, I stamped a simple sentiment from the Flamazing set.  And that is it!  A fun way to use the new collage die.

Neat and Tangled Birthday Blog Hop....

Happy 5th Birthday to Neat and Tangled and my sweet friend, Danielle!  I am so excited to be joining in for this birthday hop.  If you are following along on the hop, you should have stopped in here after the amazing, Laura Bassen.

Danielle has several fun new stamps and dies this month that are now available in her shop.  Click HERE to head on over there and check things out!

The new stamp set called Wild Ones along with the Hooray dies were calling to me.  I thought they would be so cute together so I created this CAS card...

To start off, I die cut the hooray in a pink glitter paper and the out line in white cardstock.  I added some striped washi to the bottom of the card base and then popped the card front up on foam tape.  I added in the "it's your day!" sentiment in Versafine black onyx ink.  I popped the hooray up on more foam tape and then colored up that adorable turtle and tucked him down in behind the hooray.

Because I had to have a matching envie, I embossed the envelope with the hooray as well.  I created a video showing how easy this technique is.  You can head on over to my YouTube channel by clicking HERE and check it out.  :)

Another new stamp from Neat and Tangled this month is called All the Sprinkles.  It is an adorable stamp to use for easy backgrounds or in this case....a wine tag!

I die cut the wine tag and then heat embossed All the Sprinkles with white embossing powder.  I masked off the top of the wine tag and then did a rainbow of ink blending down the tag.

Next, I die cut the hooray die in white cardstock and the outline in vellum.  I loved how the vellum looked but realized it needed to be popped up on the tag, so I die cut another of the hooray dies in fun foam.  This way, the fun foam doesn't show because its hidden in behind the vellum and under the white cardstock hooray.  I also realized after the fact, that it needed some sparkle.  So I covered it in stickles.  Stickles make everything better!  :)

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for today.  Your next stop on the hop is over to Kathy Racoosin. I can't wait to see what she has created for this hop!  You can also head over to the Neat and Tangled blog to see a full schedule for their 5th Birthday Hop!  There will be daily stops all the way to August 11th.  Don't forget to leave comments along the way.  There are prizes too!  One $100 gift certificate and 2 $50 gift certificates.  Names will be drawn from all the comments along the hop.

So glad you stopped in today!  Have a great day!

Fruit Basket Shaker Card....

Hey crafty friends!  It's Laurie Willison here.  The latest kit, Fruit Basket, from Queen and Company is so much fun.  It's filled with adorable toppings, the perfect fruity dies, an AMAZING paper pack and the perfect foam boxes to create easy shaker cards.  Seriously.  SO easy!

I have 2 fruity cards to share today.  This first one uses the Strawberry dies and foam boxes....along with a gorgeous piece of striped paper from the paper pack....

Queen and Co

That stripped paper CALLED my name when I first opened the paper pad.  Rainbow, of course, as well as stripes.  All the stripes!  I covered the front of an A2 sized card with the patterned paper and then simply added a sentiment stamped on a banner.  I die 3 pieces using the strawberry dies....1 white negative for the background, the red for the edge and then the green leaves.

Queen and Co

I assembled the box with the foam and the acetate, and added the toppings that come in the kit and then topped it off with the die cuts.  So easy!  The strawberry toppings are adorable aren't they?  I did add some clear diamonds for a little sparkle (not included in the kit).

Queen and Co

I wanted to show how easy it is to create a simple flat, non-shaker card too....

Queen and Co

First, I did a little ink blending a piece of cardstock.  I wanted that ombre look from the red all the way to the white of the watermelon.  I was able to place the die perfectly on top of that ink blending spot and get the perfect look.  I did the same with the watermelon rind.  I stamped the adorable coordinating sentiment and then added 2 of the black tear drop gems on the watermelon.

Queen and Co

This month there will be so much more to see using this kit.  So come back here and visit to see more Fruit Basket inspiration.  Thanks so much for coming by and have a great day!
